About Us
The politics postgraduate community here at Newcastle University is a diverse environment, with MAs, MPhils, PhDs, full time, and part time students, from all around the world, working on a variety of different subjects. People have different interests, priorities and goals. The aim of the Politics Postgraduate Society is to be a forum for postgraduate students to come together and share these interests and concerns with one another, be that over a coffee, a movie or after a seminar.
Postgraduate study, although rewarding, can be very isolating and stressful, and everyone experiences this at some point in their studies. To alleviate these feelings of islation and stress, the Politics Postgraduate Society offfers a variety of activities:
- Seminar Series: Have the opportunity to hear about other peoples' research and present your own work.
- Professional Development: Experienced staff will offer guidance on topics such as coping with postgraduate study preparing for your viva and applying for jobs.
- Current Affairs Forum: Gives staff and students the chance to discuss political events that are happening in the real world.
- Film Night: A relaxing evening with fellow students, a movie, and FREE PIZZA!
